Okay, Stackmas has started. I wrote a little about what this whole plan is about before so I'm not going to go too deep on it here. One thing I've added: 500w~ each post. So let's just jump in!
December has started and there the threat of snow flurries in London. TBH before I moved to the UK I only really knew two seasons: Spring and Summer. Man, I didn't know what I had. Not that I don't love Autumn, because I'm a long jacket and boots girlie at heart, but Winter. Despite being born in it... I am not a winter girlie. I was born in winter, but I was born less than a 100 miles from the Equator at the edge of the Caribbean. I was not made for Winter.
Moving to London, taught me that hey, the season really do change every 3 or so months! Winter the harshest season of all for my Latin blood, but I've adapted. I only need to wear 2-3 layers of clothes now as opposed to the 3-4 of before when I first moved.
One of the other things that moving to London and living here was a few of the things people do when they live in the cold! Some little UK traditions. Sunday roasts, mulled wine, advent calendars. I haven't had a Sunday Roast yet, but I have bought myself a little mulled wine kit and the new Reese's Chocolate advent calendar.
I also did finish it before today.
You may ask yourself, why? Do you not have any self control?
I will answer: Not when Bruce the Shark (what I've started calling my period) comes to visit.
It was the only chocolate in the flat and well. I really love Reese Peanut Butter Cups. No menstruating person would convict me.
So I might have to get another advent calendar. I might also need to pre-plan my chocolate stash better. A few years ago one of my flatmates had a GREAT advent calendar. It was for 12 days and it all little puzzles. I maybe should see if something like that is still available. That little 12 day puzzle honestly saved my mental health that year bc my flatmate was kind enough to let me do the puzzles once she realised I liked helping her with them and at the time I really needed that little distraction. Don't worry, I made it up to her with her gift.
Plus with the job hunt still going, I think getting an advent calendar that requires me to do a little more than just open a chocolate might be a good call. But I also really need to get some more chocolates.
Good friends and good chocolate (if you like and can eat chocolate) are sometimes all you need.
Stackmas: 1/21 (technically bc I'm only planning to post on weekdays but... it is Navidad. so:)
Stackmas: 1/25 — wait, did I just create my own advent calendar??
Rec Section:
TV: Cloak and Dagger - I’m rewatching it on Disney+ and I’m so happy these two characters got to have their time in tv sun before that Marvel sun began to set.
Home: If you live in a tiny flat and covet your floor space: a hanging Christmas tree. My is currently hanging on my wardrobe door and it does add that extra little touch.
A rice cooker that also has a cake setting. My two left over bananas have been saved and now I have banana bread.
Body: Microwavable heat pads if you find hot water bottles too hot. One was sitting on my stomach earlier. The other one I bought was a soft cuddly heat source while I slept.
