so, this is like livejournal for adults?
that should give you a frame of reference for my online background if the title didn't
Welcome to some organised chaos!
It's really funny to me starting this in the middle of a job hunt, but hey, it's worked for others. Don't ask me to name them, but I'm sure it has. Mostly bc I've definitely hear/seen clips taking about ppl started a YouTube, newsletter, business while they were trying to fill the hours that work used to take up in between job hunting and, well in my case, binging the full Star Trek catalogue. And most of these people, who I really don't remember, sorry!, say it was either the best thing they could have done, or it was a failure but it taught them a lot, or it changed their lives.
I mean, all three options sound pretty good to me right now.
Especially since I'm finishing the TOS s2, about to start s3, and I've only really had one hit in the job hunting side of things. (Funny story there, actually! Long story short: it was me and my friend going up against the same role, but the job recruiter didn't seem to realise it even tho we worked for the same company in the same team. Oh and I didn't get the job. My buddy did and ngl, I didn't really mind or care. Probably the first sign I wasn't sure excited about the job, but was looking forward to you know, having a paycheque again.)
(Update! From the day of writing this and deciding to post I have finished all of Star Trek the Original Series and all the TOS movies!)
So let's do this thing.
However, I'm still not sure what this thing is.
There are ideas, though!
1) Let's talk about work, baby!
2) Let's talk about how my Star Trek binge* is going.
3) Let's talk about my journey with productivity and creativity.
but it'll probably be 4):
A grand old mix of the three!
*or any of my other binges. (I like to watch and rewatch things okay. I'm only human and a product of my generation.)
Important things of note:
I am, and have been for a while, on the wrong side of 30. This can mean a lot of different things to different people, including but not limited to: being 31. I am not 31, but a grand old 37. So yeah, if my wizened age is gonna be a turn off, bc of whatever reason, then cool. And really, I only mention this, because even tho I've been terminally online since I was 12, I am also terminally not interested in a lot of what happens online a lot of the time.
I am and have always been a terrible speller. I call Lois Lane my spelling soulmate and iykyk. Hence the name of this stack. Blog? Newsletter? I'll probably make spelling and grammar mistakes despite me checking things over, but I'll also probably use some shorthand bc (< see!) it's just how I type casually.
I like tv and film. Scifi, mysteries, romcoms, action adventure. Never been huge of period pieces, but now the 1990s are considered vintage so I guess I gotta get used to the fact I am from a period piece. Ouch.
I also like art, creating and generally enjoying. I've been trying to get back into my creative practice on and off since I left uni, but you know, life stuff gets in the way sometimes. So, actually:
4) I might talk about art sometimes and trying to be productive in that way.
I like travel but I wouldn't call myself adventurous.
And there are many other things about me, not all for the internet to know, but we'll see what comes out.
Now, do I have a plan for this?
Nope! I'm planning to see how this goes and hopefully it can be something that I enjoy and maybe some of you do, too.
Until next week!

I'm delighted this exists!!
